We toured the steam wheel boat the Klondike which was very interesting and cool (Sabrina is helping me write this)
We walked up a nice path in Whitehorse to the fish ladder ... not sure who the third girl is but wanted to show the Chinook Salmon :) male with hook
Hotel in Tok the Young's Motel not very impressed the pamphlet describes itself as modern but our room was out of the 70s probably because we have the dog with us, cost 107$ but was clean. The restaurant Fast Eddy's is great - good, well priced food.
On the way back it was a different story hunting season opened in the States very busy and gross you could see where they were shot and there intestines were left
Deck from our hotel room in Dawson very cute spot called Whithouse, room had a double bed and 2 singles perfect for the girls first time in 5 weeks they had there own bed :)
It was $170 a night a bit expensive but I would recommend it clean and comfortable. They also had cool tent rooms in the back worth checking out but no dog allowed in the tents.
Engineer Creek has a red colour due to the minerals in it, sheep often come down to drink for the minerals but we did not see any BUT...
It rained ... not good the roads become very slippery about 100km from Eagle Plain hotel we hit a section of road with about a half a foot of loose gravel it would pull the car and it would fish tail ... Bob was able to keep it on the road :)
Love this place, Eagle Plain Hotel and Restaurant the dog was welcome everywhere. We stayed the night and exchanged stories with other travelers. In someways we were lucky, the transports were grounded due to the rain which was one less hurdle out on the road. They called for snow on Thursday so we decided to go to the arctic circle and head on back Northwest Territories will have to wait for another time.
Met a wonderful couple from Anchorage, Sandy the lady gave us this wonderful book full of coupons - this will be very helpful during our tour of Alaska.
Returned to Dawson and found this gem. Kate's cabins are wonderful. Two queen size beds (has a variety of different sizes of beds) clean, best shower yet. Cost 140$ very friendly people even gave us more internet when we used up our quota. Their restaurant seems to be 'the place' in town very busy with fancy cuisine.
Today we drove back to Tok, Top of the World highway was fine. We are staying at Snowshoe Motel a very nice place two rooms with a bathroom in between. Clean and a good price 115$ tried to get picture to up load not working the wifi is so slow
Miss the rv, Bob and I are trying to decide if we should go back and get it ... or keep going without it ... there are pros and cons to each.
