Alaska - Palmer to Cooper Landing to Homer

Finally able to get some photos up wow it is a challenge to find wifi
As mentioned earlier left rv at Destruction Bay for this part of the trip from September 23 - 26
Difficult to see but pen is Palmer key is Homer

This is Knik River lodge in Palmer beautiful place only able to afford to stay here with the coupon book given to us by those wonderful people at the arctic circle.  Stayed two nights to rest, we hiked and enjoyed the view.  Beautiful place!
The owner is from Netherlands it took him 5 years to find this land to build on. He worked as a travel agent and was the expert on Alaska, he seems to have connections still from the Netherlands since many people were from that area that stayed here.
Still have mud from Dawson

Chopper flights available, they bring them up to the top of the mountains and supply the winter boats.

We hiked this area.

Enjoying a beer from our front porch.

The view was incredible

from the widow!

Very cool dinning room we had a special four course meal here French onion soup, grilled salmon, mousse all with a beer from Alaska. The inside of the tent is actually beautiful with lights and the windows looking over the mountain (thks Mom)

Friendly mouse that hangs around the area

I think it posses for pictures

We had to drive past this to get to the lodge looks very scary, it would seem like this person lives in the van.

Laundry drying

Anchorage shopped down town looked at the Denali North America's highest peak (cloudy) missed the museum.

Low tide coming into Anchorage

Glacier

Stayed here twice - drove from Palmer to Anchorage spent the day pocking around then stayed the night at Cooper landing.  The next day we visited Homer and drove back.  Excellent spot with comfy beds and fluffy towels, restaurant was ok they used paper plates for breakfast really!

Love the lay out of this cabin

Girls slept in the loft with their own bed

Off to Homer views of the bluff

From the spit in other words a piece of land that sticks out into the ocean

Very touristy mostly made for the cruise ships that come into port we decided to play on the beach.

Very beautiful

Skip a rock or two

Must go in

Jelly fish

But here is the problem, on this beautiful piece of land they have industry and old scrap boat yards that look horrible, very sad.

Prices are high, 5 dollars for a small ice cream we passed.

Strange they even have an arena on the spit.

However, we did enjoy the Islands and Ocean visitor center.

We loved Homer's play ground
