Grand Canyon Railway rv Bob loves the barbecue and on the weekend they light a gas campfire, it is very cold at night.

Leaving dog she seems fine lots of treats to chew
First day we walked around second day we did some hiking, I was a little nervous with so many drop offs it is very dangerous

These pictures are from our second day hiking
This is how the hike begins three four tiers, the corners are scary. We certainly were careful to stay close to the rock.
Look closely people are walking on the path
WOW!
Assault on the south rim.

drop off

This is simply crazy!

Do not step off the edge because the drop seems endless
That is where we are going Ooh Aah point
Amazing stair case; stay on the trail!
Far enough for us this was considered a moderate hike you could go down two more points and then down to the Colorado river. There is a place to stay at the bottom but it is reserved a year ahead (so we were told), or you can camp. There are mules that bring equipment and people down, but I'm not sure if I would be comfortable on the back of a mule on this steep trail. Sabrina is making plans to come back when she is older and will camp at the bottom.

Brake time then back up
Where could this trail be going?

edge is trail then drop off
Stuck to the left for a reason.

The girls going up the tiers I'm a bit slower
Mules are coming

Bob had a chance to talk to the guide with the mules, take 3.5 hours up and 2.5 hours to go down
I trust they are being careful

Here they come

Listening to Ranger about history of area
Museum on cliff edge
Look at the trail!!!! We turned around at this point.
First day
walking around investigating
There is Bob and the girls

Can't really capture how vast this is

a few family pics

Went there

That is a trail

I think the railing could be higher

Elk

New sign beware of cougar!!!

This rock is going to come lose soon

Having a bit of fun

No kidding

So sad that so many parish here each year, wish they would make it safer. We were told that there is an average of 270 people rescued, and the number varies on how many die from 20 to 70 a year. This is not like Canada, our parks are safer!

fat squirrel

The first day investigating tomorrow (top of this blog) hike and we are nervous

looking out at the view
